How returns are calculated
Monthly returns compound from zero before the first selected month. Annualised portfolio return uses the number of represented months, including the partial month.
Benchmarks use Yahoo Finance daily closing prices in USD: S&P 500 (^GSPC), Nasdaq 100 (^NDX, not Nasdaq Composite) and Bitcoin (BTC-USD). Returns compare the last close before the selected months with the latest completed close. Index dates follow New York trading sessions; Bitcoin uses UTC days. These are price returns, excluding reinvested dividends and trading costs. Closing dates can differ from each other and from the portfolio update. Yahoo's unofficial endpoint may be delayed or unavailable; the last verified snapshot is retained on failure.
